For your safety, please follow these rules. Only Clearwater Farm members may be on farm property at times other than Open Barn, classes, special events or scheduled visits. During Open Barn hours, please stay near your guide and follow directions. Your guide is a member of our Animal Team. They know all about our animals, their care and behavior. Children 12 years old or younger must be accompanied by an adult. An adult may accompany more than one unrelated child but must watch all children he/she brings to the farm in an informal group. Siblings and babysitters may not be left in charge of younger children. Children must wear sturdy shoes or boots. No bare feet, sandals or flip flops, please. Water from the farm’s well is for gardens and animals. It is safe to drink but it may taste different from tap water. Bring a container of drinking water if you visit on a hot day. Visitors who do not follow directions given by guides will be asked to leave. Please do not chase or pester animals. They come to you if they want your company. Animal team members show you how to pet the bunnies. Do not pick them up. Their back legs are very strong. A frightened bunny might scratch or jump from your arms. Do not feed grass or clover to goats, sheep or the donkey until your guide shows you how. Do not go by an animal, especially behind it, unless your guide is nearby and says it is OK. Never open a gate or door unless your guide is with you. Do not climb on fences, walls or equipment. If you are the last person through a gate, please close it. Put on the chain if there is one. Ask the guide to help you. Farm tools and equipment are dirty and sharp. Do not touch them unless your guide shows you how to safely handle the tool. Wash hands after you touch the animals or work with farm tools. All visitors must follow these directions. They help protect you from infection by typical bacteria found on or around farm buildings and animals. DO NOT DRINK FROM ANY HOSE. We hope you enjoy your visit and will come again!
